How to show data screen when map is set to "Always" for mountain bike navigation?

Yesterday I rode a mountain bike trail and had the 830 to always show the map. In this mode, how do I switch to my data screen? I've now set it to show the map only during navigation..

Swipe the screen from left to right.

Swiping horizontally switches between data screens during activity. Just make sure that you are not in the "panning" mode, that is that you had not tapped the hand icon between + and -. Otherwise, your edge might be suffering from display lock problem described in another thread forums.garmin.com/.../830-locked-up-during-a-ride.

I was not in panning mode, nor in screen lock mode. I will double check this on the next ride. Thanks.

I suggest trying it while not riding. You can be at home, press start, try swiping, panning, zooming, and other ride type interactions with the unit to get the feel for it. At the end, press stop and discard the ride.
