Grade field displays wildly inaccurate values; cumulative and enroute total ascent figures incorrect

With version 4.1 my 830 unit will consistently under- or overestimate gradients, often wildly so (displaying 19% during the climb of a 5% grade, or -7% while on reasonably level ground). At points during a ride the display's total ascent figure will seemingly 'freeze' only to instantaneously increase 600' or so after a few minutes. My end of ride cumulative ascent figures are 30+% more generous than they should be. Performed a reset to no avail. Have reverted unit to firmware version 3.5. Will see what happens...

    I M having the same issue. My Garmin 830 has been working flawlessly including altitude/grade. My last two rides, the altitude is way off. I did a round trip and I get a 300m difference between departure and arrival. Grade showed 19% at times while actual grade was more like 6%. Sometimes grade was negative even though I Was climbing a serious hill. Software is up to date: 5.50 as of August 10. Please help, Garmin are you even reading our posts. The above issue similar to mine has been unanswered for 12 months...

    The same issue with my 830 last two months after almost 2 years of accurate job. Gradient goes complete wring during the entire rides.Is it a hardware problem or possible to fix it with some soft settings???

    No problems of elevation or grade on my today race With fw6.0, edge 530

    My elevation in 830 is perfect  but when I follow a course made in CG it's  climb pro data are way off. Too much elevation there, random 40% climbs when the real is about 5-6%!!! this stated about 2 months ago. It might be after the updated maps I am not sure.

    Elevation is off on my 830 same route and it can be a difference of a 100 or more ft My edge 800 elevation seemed to be closer to getting the same numbers every time.

    Same issue, a friend of mine said this device use GPS to calculate %, so the issue maybe is the connection with satellite. Im not sure.

    I have the same problem with  software 7.0, also my location on the map has nothing to do with the reality.  Map 2020.20, my 830 was replaced 3rd time nad the same problem.
