GPS 2.5 update not working

I've been trying to update from beta 2.42 to 2.50 via Garmin Express but it refuses to trigger the update when syncing/ejecting. The update appeared in Garmin Express and after downloading/syncing I have both 006B310700.GCD and GUP3107.GCD are in my RemoteSW folder. I have tried other suggestions such as numerous combinations of power on/off, plugging in/ejecting, moving/deleting one or both GCD files but nothing seems to work as the update never initiates and my GPS fw is still confirmed at 2.42.

I know that not everybody has had the same trouble as I have getting it updated, but has anybody else had trouble and found a suitable way to get the update to happen?

or start an outdoor activity, to activate the GPS update (as with the previous line of Edge)

i've definitely started an outdoor activity (multiple ones) and none of them prompted any update.

Also, I don't understand what you mean by "So i put back the Original 006B310700_230.GCD (renamed to 006B310700.GCD)". Do you mean you removed the 006B310700_230.GCD file from the RemoteSW folder? Or that you removed it then put the 006B310700_230.GCD back into the RemoteSW folder? Thanks!

the 230 comes from the beta zip, have a look in there

You're still not making any sense.. did you read my question?

You seem to be saying that you re-inserted the downgrade file back to 2.30 and it somehow triggered your 2.5 upgrade.. if that's true then i'm not sure how.

Now that this thread has been sufficiently derailed by nonsense, has anybody else found a solution?

Did you call or start a chat with Garmin to solve? They are very quick to respond.

That's definitely good advice and was going to be my next step. For reasons unknown, after my morning ride today I plugged my 830 into my computer to try one more time to get the software to update and it mysteriously updated on it's own finally.
