I cannot change the color of the driven route in the map screen. For the mountainbike profile it is light blue.
I would like to change it to something more visible. Is this possible?

It is certainly possible to change the colour of the route for the preview screen but once you activate a route, the route line is the unchangeable colour and I agree that should be configurable using the standard colours available for the preview screen.
Hopefully we see a solution soon, because that cannot be a great problem to solve. Should only be a configuration parameter, somewhere.
At least the "old" Oregon 600 have had this function available, so i am really surprised that the edge 830 has lost this usefull configuration option.
You are maybe mixing up things. dpawlyk is talking about
You have 3 type of track with each its own color:
- Navigation - purple - could not be changed. As far as I know it was only once the old Oregon, where they allowed it.
- Preview, permanent view - could be changed to limiited number of colors
- recorded track - light blue - could not be changed.
But in any case I agree all of those should be free of choice.
Hi have some educated guess at least of navigation. They like to prevent from support callls like "navigation does not work, no track shown". The purple is the only color not used in most maps, so should be fairly visible always.
The bigger issue for me for the moment is, that the tracks are too thin.
It's magenta (not purple). The magenta line is also somewhat of a trademark for Garmin.
The calculated route is magenta.
The active track is magenta with black borders (which makes it look purple).
The active track is narrower than the calculated route.
It's "too thin" because it's the same particular number of pixels on all the devices (meaning it's thinner on higher resolution devices).
I am only talking about the "currently recorded track". It depends currently which map i use, if the line is more visible or not. So i think the best option was to make it configurable.
i think the edge is not only a fitness tracker for biker, it is also a navgiation unit. But currently is really hard to find the route back with a line colour which is not really visible
