Still have issues with BT pairing

I’m still experiencing problems with the device pairing with my iPhone 8. I unpaired, and repaired the 830 as a new device and it still does not pair with GC, regardless of the app status (running in background, or fresh start). When repairing it, it lasts for about a day or two, then it doesn’t pair at all unless I redo everything.

it seemed way more stable for me on 3.5. Any tips?

  • Same here, on iPhone x running iOS 12.4.

    So frustrating Disappointed

Any ideas on how to solve this?

  • Un-pair (like you have), remove GC from iPhone memory (double-click home button then swipe up), then power down/up both devices. Try to pair again. I did this and it finally paired.

  • I'm still having trouble staying connected to my XS Max. It'll pair initially then disconnect somewhere along the ride and never re-join. It's very frustrating still

  • same for me as well. Its frustrating. I believe this is a Garmin issue. my Power meter was connected using Bluetooth and even that connection was lost during yesterday's ride. I had to stop, delete the sensor and reconnect. This time, am glad it chose Ant+. It looks like Garmin's BLE code has multiple issues!

I am having the same issues. I have deleted/unpaired multiple times and repaired. It always loses connection, which means live track quits working. Its extremely frustrating because I depend on this safety feature for road riding.

  • This is getting ridiculous, the edge simply refuses to connect with my Note 10 plus, it worked a couple of times, now nothing. I have to go to garmin connect app and forget the edge, also remove it from the Bluetooth setting and also go to edge and forget my phone and begin all over again just to make it work and after a couple of days it is necessary to do this again!!!! I mean so many features depend on the Bluetooth Connection, we have essentialy bought a useless device, they simply cannot make a software that will work!!! Very disappointed, all they do is tell as to reset and reboot and pair again, they have no solution, their software is garbage!!!

  • This is an honest question...are there any BLE experts, or, people comfortable enough to know the technology on this forum that have an idea of WHAT exactly may be happening? Like, I get it...the connection is lost somewhere, but why? Is there a bluetooth parameter setting in the code that needs to be adjusted or something, or is there some base property of BLE that causes these kinds of drops? My assumption is the former, as I have headphones that I connect and they NEVER drop. What is different between this and the software Garmin creates? Is it a simple line of code?

Yes. To all of this. It's a 15 minute ordeal to get everything wiped out and reconnected. And then it will work for 15 min of a ride, and then I get a text from my husband saying my live track isn't working and stopped at 6 miles into ride and I'm on mile 35?! As a road rider, a lot could have happened in those 29 miles! Then when I get my edge data at the end of the ride, the HR monitor and cadence sensors also dropped out during the ride and never came back on. My radar worked for the first half of the ride, then I no longer received and notifications for cars approaching. And then the next time I try to ride, My phone's blue tooth shoes its connected to my edge, but my Garmin Connect shows it's not connected. So I can't download my route to even get started. Repeat the delete process all over again. Finish my ride, and it won't upload from edge to connect and the connect app tells me that it looks like my edge device is "busy" and to try again later. uggghhh.

  • I also have a Wahoo Elemnt and after the initial pairing everything is working flawlessly as it should, whereas when trying to load a route in Garmin edge I stood in the cold for 10 minutes trying to pair the stupid thing and finally gave up and went without navigation.

  • the problem is because of firmware 4.1...

After downgrade to 3.5, the problems are gone.

Now i am waiting for another update
