Upgrading Garmin Edge 830 to software version 4.10 from linux

Hello!

I just bought a Garmin Edge 830 and would like to install the latest version of the software on it. Right now it's on 3.20 and I see 4.10 is out as of a few weeks ago.

I gather that the contemporary way to do this is with Garmin Express. That's fine for people with Windows or Mac, but I happen to run Linux.

I found this older instructions here, which shows how in the past one could copy GUPDATE.gcd in the Garmin folder (once the Edge was mounted) and off one would go.

Is it still possible to proceed like this for the upgrade to 4.10? I'd like to avoid totaling my brand new Garmin 830...

Any precise instructions for Linux would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Ah, nevermind, the Garmin eventually figured out by itself there was an upgrade available and is now installing it.

Sorry about the noise and happy cycling!
