Device-to-device route sharing work for anyone?

A friend of mine and I both have 830s (both running latest 4.10). Yesterday we thought we would try doing file sharing between devices (since that seemed like a useful feature).

But it didn't work at all...

My friend first set his up to share a route. And I was able to see his device on the discovery screen. But when I clicked it, it spun for a while and then I got an error saying "connection failed" (or something to that extent.

We tried several times but got the same failure each time.

Tried this a couple of days ago from my 1000 to my friends new 830. Did not work. I was able to share it to a 1030 and he could then share to the 830. Garmin software is as reliable as expected. ;-)

Haven't tried on 4.10 yet, but on 3.50 it worked flawlessly, shared the route from one 830 to two others. I was amazed, frankly.

Just transferred 2 routes from my 830 on 4.1 to my wife's 1000. Note that you cannot have an activity running on either unit when attempting the transfer.

Did it last weekend from a 830 to a 530. Failed on first try, then it worked on second try with exactly the same approach, nothing changed... Garmin style.
