Why do I need to pair my 830 about once a week to my phone?

Samsung Galaxy 8

  • It will connect and work for a few days/rides and then the next day it just says "searching" and never finds the phone. I reboot both devices, no change. This has been happening since I got it which was 1 version below the 3.5 I believe I'm on now.

  • I'm having the same issue with my iPhone Xs. 99% of the time it will not auto connect to my phone so I have to toggle bluetooth off / on on the iPhone and then the 830 will connect.

  • Have unfortunately exactly the same behaviour. First I thought that this was related to Garmin Connect or Edge updates but its not only that. My 945 is perfect in this aspect. So have to unpair, pair again and for couple of rides everything is fine. Then again pairing. Quite frustrating to be honest.

  • I have the same issue with my Pixel 3, it will never connect unless I toggle the bluetooth on the phone. It is very annoying as if I forget to do this before a ride, no live track or any of the other features that require a connection. My Fenix 5x+ has no issue and stays connected all the time so I am not sure if it is a GCM problem or something with the 830.

  • I have the same issue with my Nokia 8.1 (Android One, v9), after a few days after pairing in Garmin Connect, it will never connect unless I toggle the bluetooth on the phone. No difference between v3.50,3.55 and 3.57.
