Why does Garmin produce such a piece of ***?

That says it all.  Cant get my money back and I have a non functioning unit.

  • Why can't you get your money back? Which country are you in? Do you have any consumer laws?

You're not really giving us much to go on to be able to provide any meaningful suggestions...

  • I believe you are referring to the Galileo system not working that you mentioned in the beta post. Well it wasn't made by Garmin and it isn't maintained by Garmin. I don't see a reason why Garmin would have to give you a refund. Stop being a troll and use GPS or GPS + Glonass for a while. They both work perfectly in Europe. Galileo doesn't work for anyone at the moment (service is being restored so it might work, but I'd advise not using it right now).

  • None of the GPS works, not Galileo, not Glonass not GPS.  Nothing.  It tracks all over the place, not on the road I am traveling.  As a result I cannot use navigation which is the whole reason I got this.

And the online store I bought it from only has a 30 day money back guarantee.  After that you cant return it at all.  And Garmin kept me hanging with their request that I try this and that and wait for new firmwares.  Now its worse than ever.

I got it in the US but Im trying to use it in Europe now.

  • I could be wrong....  but since you bought it in the US, I'm pretty sure it only comes with preloaded maps in north america.

  • I downloaded the open source openstreetmaps for the countries in europe, which I have used successfully on my older Edge 1000 unit.  This is supposed to work properly, but it doesnt.  The record of my mapping is all over the place, even when I retrace the same route.  And navigation doesnt work at all; the device pauses and then shuts off.
