I also have an Edge 800 and the sensor works fine with it so I know the battery is not dead and the sensor is working. Any suggestions?

As it turns out my sensor battery had died. I should have checked this first, however I had just got back from a ride using my old Garmin Edge 800 and I assumed the speed sensor was working.
What is the model of your sensor?
My older Edge 800 speed/cadence sensors (gsc10) works fine with my new Edge 830.
My 10 year old GSC10 and Garmin HR strap are still working great. We also have a 10 year old Bontrager Duotrap sensor that works fine. Of course we also have the newer sensors and HR monitors but the old ones just keep going.
Thx guys, it was the battery I put I it. I must've taken a better from a taillight and stahed it away but forgot. I put it in thinks it was new.. Got new batteries and all is well.
Safe on the road and "rubber side down." That's a diy bike bleeding before you ride or race.
