Activities from watch / breath

Hi,

I have got a Fenix 5 and use it for all my sports, including cycling. Now I am thinking about buying an Edge 830 for Outdoor cycling (still using my Fenix 5 for running, indoor cycling, weight lifting). I have 2 questions.

1. Would my activities from 1 device be synced to each other? So if I do running with Fenix 5 would I see the activity+calories+effect in recovery time on Edge 830? Or if I go cycling with Edge 830, would I have the activity+calories+effect in recovery time on Fenix 5?

2. respiratory rate: What does it tell me? Is there anything I can conclude from a high/low respiratory rate? Or is this data only available for liquid household and calories consumption / caloric intake?

Thank you! BR,

Bernhard

Regarding sync -  Traning Load and Training Status does not work very well with my Fenix 5X and Edge 830. They seem to live their separate lives on each device. Also in Garmin Connect you have separate views for each device and they show very different values. You can't get a summary of Training Status and Training Load anywhere that I know of. It's just very confusing.
Maybe Garmin will fix this, I don't know. If you missed it - Edge 830 does not support "Intensity minutes" so that will be blank if you doesn't wear your watch during workout.

If you can live with these small "things", the Edge 830 is awesome device! :)

  • 1. Yes. Use the Physio True Up feature to sync activities and metrics between the devices. I find the load and status pretty consistent between my F5 and 520Plus - I'm not sure what the reported issue is with the 830.

  • Ok, thank you. Sounds good Slight smile Does anybody know how to interpret respiratory rate?
