Had a major issue on the 2nd ride with my Edge 830, on Firmware 3.20.
Was 40-50mi into a free ride, knew a cafe I liked was nearby, used the POI feature to try and navigate to it.
Found the place in the POI navigator, hit the navigate to button, and the Garmin crashed and rebooted. Luckily it did not erase my ride - good feature there. I tried again, another crash.
Only this time, the device got itself into a reset loop.
It would reboot, then as soon as the navigation loaded up (usually 1-3 seconds after booting up), it would immediately reset, ad infinitum. Yikes!
I tried for a solid 10 minutes to try to interrupt the resetting to regain use of the unit. Eventually the only way I was able to get it running again was to turn the unit off, bike a few miles away into a tunnel, turn it back on and cancel the navigation before it could acquire a GPS lock (the tunnel delayed it long enough) and crash.
I'm a little afraid to use the POI navigation now on rides.
Is this known / is a fix coming?
