Communication of Edge 830

I plan to purchase the Edge 830, when it becomes available here in Germany. Therefore I have two questions:

  1. Is it possible, to connect my Fenix 5 Plus to the device to show heart rate data on the Edge 830?
  2. Is it possible, to connect my Varia RTL511 to both, the Edge 830 and the Fenix 5 Plus? My goal is, to see the RTL511 warnings on the Edge display and to get at the same time these warnings as vibration signals on the Fenix 5 watch.

    I don't have the Edge 830 or the Fenix 5 Plus but it is possible to connect the Varia RTL510 to more than one Edge bike computers. I tested that with the Edge 520 and Edge 820.

    I bought a Edge 830 today by Zweirad Stadler in Mannheim. There is also stock at some online stores. Stadler labels the 830 Mountainbike bundle with a price which is more appropriate for the 530 Bundle, I didn't ask them but bought it for 370€ :-D
    1. you will have to enable Broadcast HR during activity. Its build for this purpose. 
    2. Already answer.

    You could also use the extended monitor feature and use the Edge as a monitor for the Fenix if you are using both at the ride. I think its not necessary. I used the Forerunner and the Edge both at the same time:
    The beeps of the Edge are better recognized than the vibration of the watch while riding. 

    I don't have the Varia RTL. Does it trigger an audio alarm on the mobile? If so, I would connect the edge to a mobile phone and use a headset (in one ear). This will also give you navigation Ansagen.

    Yesterday I checked the delivery status of the Edge 830 in Germany: Up to now only the MTB-bundle is on stock at various online shops. The basic set is announced for June 15 for 399€.

    Another interesting technical question is, whether the display of the device can be used with polarized sunglasses. With some of my electronic devices it is nearly impossible to use them with such glasses.
