Edge 830 wont charge or connect to garmin express

Anybody confirm this for me. If you have the edge 830 connected to connect  phone app and then connect the unit to your PC it wont charge/ connect to garmin express. 

I can get it to charge if the edge 830 is disconnected from the mobile app and plugged into the PC but if if I  open the mobile app it stops charging the edge 830

JamesWoodhead - I have not seen this or had any other reports of this. I have a few questions for you.

• What kind of computer do you have?
• What kind of phone do you have?
• Are you using the Garmin Charging Cable that came with your Edge 830?

Also, im struggling to sync a ride it keeps saying your device is busy and timed out try later!!

I have done a full reset, its charging but keeps dropping out and returning to the home screen, then connecting to my phone, then dropping back to the charge screen. Am I right if its plugged in it should stay on the charging screen?

Could it be that the USB port is going to sleep on your computer. 

Not sure...how do you know/ stop it from going to sleep?

That would be strange if the PC was not in standby mode. Have you tried plugging their charging cord into a wall plug adapter to see if the issue if the Garmin or your PC?

yeah, does the same. tried different cables. Sending it back.
