LCD Screen improvement

After the 820's LCD Screen Halo issue, Hope Garmin is able to upgrade and improved the 830's LCD Screen quality and the rest of its hardware and future software updates

I here ya. My previous 820 had the halo. So far my spanking new 830 is working as advertised.

Both the 820 and 1030 did have the halo issue for a while. Garmin fixed that issue in manufacturing so newer units do not have that issue. Many older units were replaced by Garmin.

I thought only the 1030 had halo issue.

Is there a cut in date? My refurb replacement 820 has the same issue as my original 820. Both developed a significant halo after 1 year of use.

My 820 had the halo after 15 months of very minimal usage

I suspect there was a cut in serial number, but only Garmin would know that.

Hi Jim,

I recently purchased a Garmin Edge 830 - first purchase of a Garmin product.

My display seems blur, in particular the the large text/characters in the main menu with white background. Annoying, a bit uncomfortable but not dramatic.

I don't know if this is a defect or if I am used to better screen in general (i.e. iPhone).

Are you experiencing the same with your 830?
