Do you use a case with your bike computer?

I was wondering how many people choose to use a silicone (or other) case with their bike computers and what types of rides do you actually do? Do you ever drop it? Personally I go with just glass screen protector and a hard zip up case for storing it when not in use. I'm afraid that a sillicone case will impact the button UX.

  • I use a silicone case. I dropped my Edge 530 on the tile floor at home after a ride, shattering the glass screen. While it was in transit being swapped for a refurbished unit from Garmin, I bought a Edge540, and silicone case, so I could continue riding. Hopefully the silicone case will help the Edge540 to bounce should I be butterfingers enough to drop it.

The silicone case doesn't interfere with using the buttons.

  • I call it a "just in case".
