27.14 Software Problem

My EDGE 540 Solar device has become unusable after this update. I can't navigate around the device at all with the buttons. 

I managed to start a ride yesterday after the update and immediately noticed that the page up button was not working. Then when I went to I went to stop the ride the stop ride button was not working. I managed to end it by plugging into the computer and have now noticed that it is a general problem with the buttons of the device.

I have tried a full reset by holding the lap and start stop button and then pressing the on/off button but it still doesn't work.

Why release an "update" like this and give users no way of reverting to the old software?

    This happened to me too yesterday!!! I had an extremely wet ride, and thought I cooked my head unit from the rain because I couldn’t stop the ride or page up because the page down is stuck. I’m looking at it now to prepare for a ride tomorrow, and it’s still stuck. The “run under warm streaming water for 10 seconds and click repeatedly” advice on their support site is not working either. 

    Please fix this Garmin. I almost went to go buy a Wahoo until read this post.

    I have exactly the same problem. Have you already found a solution? Is Garmin working on a software update to fix it?

    I got a similar Problem with my 1040 using Software 27.14. can't stop activities nor switch off device. Hard reset didn't Change anything. But using DI2 Button I was able to start and Stop activities.

    Are you all still having this issue with the new software?  I just ordered an Edge 540 and I'm wondering if I should hold off on updating.  I assume it will come with an older version of the software.

    Man, no word on this? I got my Edge 540 Solar on Saturday, with about 3 hours of riding on it, no issues. But I'm too paranoid to update to 27.14. I'm still running 24.56 on mine. I don't dare to update after reading this and several other threads here and on Reddit
