Course points

I have route from rwgps that has turn-by-turn cues and some custom cues. On forerunner 955 in up ahead screen only custom cues are shown, with distance to them, and tbt on map when approaching turn. On edge tbt and custom cues are shown in course points list. How to show only custom cues like on forerunner? Edge is calculating route upon loading it into device, basically overlapping route with its own calculation of turns based on map. So if it knows about turn why does it still show tbt cues from route file? Is this a bug or is it supposed to work this way? Is there some setting I’m missing?

Thanks.

  • Course Points and Garmin calculated TBT directions are independent and if both are enabled then both will pop up.

If the 540 is similar to a 530, then the controls for each will be here:

    Menu>Navigation>Courses>Course Options>Turn Guidance

    Menu>Navigation>Courses>[Load a Course]>Settings>Course Points

There is no way on the Edge to selectively choose which course points to display. It’s all or nothing.

Unwanted cues in the course file could be removed by deleting them in RWGPS (premium version) using the review cues feature or exporting the course as TCX and manually editing with a text file editor before sending to the Edge.
