Edge 540 and custom / cyclemaps

Just picked up my Garmin 540 yesterday, and now I have it connected to Garmin Express. And I can not see Cyclemaps.

Seems like Garmin decided to go closed door on existing users, and trying to close business. From what I see elsewhere, it seems all Cyclemaps support has been discontinued, and now only TopoActive maps are available, and they will start selling updates.

Hope we can continue with free maps on the side

    The Topo maps contain the same data as the Cycling maps so you are not losing anything. Garmin just decided to switch all products over to the Topo maps.

    Topo maps has one major disadvantage. It is the way they are partitioned. Garmin should split EU into individual countries so you can cross the border from France to Germany without having a computer the swap maps. 

    eight now the random grouping of countries is a major PITA.
