Garmin Edge 540 - Power Guide/Average Speed

Good afternoon all, after a bit of advice.

Having ridden indoors with a power meter i am quite used to riding with a target power/wattage.

However after recently completing a outdoor cycling event I have been contemplating purchasing a garmin edge 540 to make use of the 'power guide' function and my bikes built in power meter.

From what I can see the power guide splits your desired course into splits/segments and recommends an output power based on your FTP and provides a estimated completion time based these values. (weather conditions dependant).

In a similar fashion and with a target course completion time in mind, is there a way to again split the desired course into splits/segments and have a target split average speed displayed along your actual split average speed. I think this would be more relatable when riding in groups and taking into account drafting etc. I find the power guide more suited to solo riding.

Correct me if i am wrong. The closest thing i have found is the virtual partner but this seems to be based on a constant average speed rather than a split average speed which will go up and down based on incline/decline.

If there are any work arounds to achieve this i would be interested to hear.

hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance
