New Max Heart Rate Detected after first ride using power meter pedals?

After the ride it said my new max HR was 172 (not sure of the exact message but something like that). I've never seen this message before and looking at the HR data and I never got close to that heart rate.

My assumption is that Garmin did some computations involving the power meter data and my HR to determine the new max HR.  Have others seen this too?

In addition to the new pedals (Favero Assioma MX-2), I've also started using the Garmin Index S2 scale daily.

Interestingly, when I looked at the Norwegian Max HR calculator (https://www.ntnu.edu/cerg/hrmax) that uses your weight, age, and height it also gives me a max HR of 172.

On the other hand, the Tanaka formula gives me a max HR calculation of 164.

It looks like the HR zones have now automatically been re-configured on the Garmin Edge 540 for a max HR of 172. Should I leave it?
