Constant Sensor Connected Notifications

Hello - Just got a bike and my edge 830 keeps notifying me that the SRAM etap shifters are connected. Have had to turn off all notifications, but wondering has anyone had this issue previously, and found the solution. No problems with all other sensors, and have checked battery, etc.

  • Same issue with HRM and Power Meter. It's constantly asking me to connect and I can't stop it!!!!

  • Hello all, thanks for your feedback. We are seeing some reports of sensors being detected repeatedly or continually giving an option to switch connection type after dismissing.

Removing the currently connected sensor and then re-pairing the sensor should prevent the message from repeating. You may need to power off and on the device before re-pairing.

Dual-channel sensors are very common nowadays and broadcast both ANT+ and BLE (Bluetooth) signals. Edge cycling computers are compatible with both and pair via ANT+ by default. For more info: Best Practices When Connecting A Sensor to a Garmin Device

Let me know if removing and re-pairing these sensors is resolving the message. For the fastest support, please contact Garmin Support for your local directly: https://support.garmin.com/

  • Same is happening to me it’s maddening. Any fix???

  • Removing and re-pairing everything worked. No problems so far.

  • Removing and un-pairing your sensors should prevent repeated sensor found or switch connection type messages.

If this fails, I would have you re-add your sensors one at a time to determine which sensor or how many sensors are connected when an issue/error begins.

Let me know what troubleshooting steps you've taken, what Edge & sensors are being used, or reach out to our support teams directly: https://support.garmin.com

  • This fix worked last week, but came back again today. Extremely annoying as it won’t go away and can’t even turn off the computer until you manage to hit the power off buttons in the milliseconds before the pairing alert comes back.

please let us know when you’ll have a software fix to address this.

  • Thanks for your participation here.

We have identified the root cause of this repeated sensor found message and a fix is live in the currently available beta updates: version 27.09 for Edge x40, and version 13.09 for Edge 1050. These updates will be in the public software releases over the next few weeks.

If you continue to experience this behavior after updating or have further questions, please let me know.

  • This is so unacceptable, Garmin. I've been in your ecosystem for decades and can't believe how lousy this bug is. None of my cycling computers are useable and outdoor riding is so much unsafer because of your careless release of unacceptable software. Yes, I'm furious. None of your suggestions work because the repeated sensor does not allow me to even remove any of the sensors attached. The whole system is basically unresponsive became the sensor window pops up ever half second and blocks the entire screen. Furthermore, my Varia radar units won't connect got the Garmin headset either because the sensor pop-up interferes with them too. When will this be fixed? How could you do this to your loyal users?

  • Fully agree. Unacceptable.

    when is the update available?
