Constant Sensor Connected Notifications

Hello - Just got a bike and my edge 830 keeps notifying me that the SRAM etap shifters are connected. Have had to turn off all notifications, but wondering has anyone had this issue previously, and found the solution. No problems with all other sensors, and have checked battery, etc.

  • This worked briefly but not working anymore. Last few rides have had the error screen on locking out all data. Including a race yesterday which makes this device completely useless!

How have you not fixed this? Confusion from the amount of sensors is unacceptable when everything is connected these days.

Im about to pull out my old wahoo bolt.

  • totally agree. i'm about to switch to wahoo, i've had bug after bug and my buddy's wahoo just seems to work.

  • removing and re-pairing only works temporarily. the issue comes back

  • Great that you identified the root cause, but as others report, the bug keeps coming back. Your identification of the root cause doesn't seem to fix my Edge 840 no matter what I try. It makes no sense Garmin. I am using my old 530 until I find a better device, You have managed to ruin the relationship of a 20+ year Garmin customer here. Shame on Garmin.

  • ok 2 more things. I'm at firmware 27.13 and the bug is still present. Also you had a similar issue back in the 520/820 devices! How in the world do you let this come back and not have an immediate fix!?

  • Same here, though I fixed it by removing and adding the speed/cadence back. Worked as usual for one ride and happened again on the next ride. I have the most recent software and am enrolled in the Beta program.

  • Thanks for your continued feedback, we're sorry to hear this persistent sensor found notification is not resolved with current software as expected.

Please ensure you have removed the sensor being repeatedly found before powering off the Edge (not putting the Edge to sleep). After restarting the Edge, wake the sensor up and search for it again, then re-add the sensor. It may be helpful to others users here to share the make/model of sensors being detected repeatedly.

We have escalated this report to provide a resolution and will update here with new changes - For the fastest service please contact the Garmin Support office for your region: https://support.garmin.com/

  • Thank you for the response, I will try the steps you listed again next ride. FYI the sensor at issue is a Bontrager
    DuoTrap S Digital Sensor (Speed/Cadence).

  • I have same issues new 1050 with 13.13 firmware. Its really frustrating as the unit essentially locks up in that message loop. Removing and re adding is only temporary, I have issues with Quarq Pro sensors SRAM. Is there any light or anything coming up here as it almosy renders my 1050 useless like a brick.

    Regards

    /Michel

  • With so many people bothered by a bug in what doesn't even seem like a very useful feature, I hope Garmin can simply remove it (or at least add a setting so I can disable it forever)...
