I have an issue which has occurred several times on my device following a specific sequence of events. I thought it had been fixed after SW update to version 25.25, yet this error has happened again.
On some days of the week, I record a single ride across several power cycles. I will ride to work, turn off device, do a lunch ride, , turn off device, ride home. I have observed that this may result in the first two sections of my ride being lost, in which the garmin only posts the ride home.
On my homescreen, I see the last ride contains the complete ride map with correct time and distance. After selecting enter to view this activity, the map then only shows a subsection of the map (ride home) but with correct time and distance for the total activity. Likewise, the summary and lap tabs reflect the total activity, not the subset which was posted.
Connecting the edge 540 to the PC, I see that the fit file in activities folder is short (reflecting only the length of ride home). folder TempFIT/ does not contain an entry corresponding to the day of activity either.
On garmin connect webpage:
- map shows only the end section of the ride.
- distance/time/avg speed reflect the total activity
- The stats tab seems accurate
