Connect on iPhone vs TCX and GPX files

I am wanting to turn a TCX / GPX / FIT from an event web site into a course on my Garmin using the Connect app.

Method 1: download via Drive. When you do "send a copy" in Drive why is Connect not an option? This is true for TCX, GPX and FIT

Method 2: do "send a copy" from Drive into local downloads on the iphone. Find the file and then use share button. Only FIT files get Connect as as option - why?

Method 3: Try to import the file directly into Connect mobile app. Yep not available.

Such an inconsistent experience!

    Drive?

    The following works for me (on an iPhone):

    Select the GPX or FIT file in the Files app and tap the box-with-arrow button at the lower left.

    Select Connect and pick a course type.

    Click save.
