Mine does that too, and also often the grade that's shown on the climbpro is off the actual grade that's on the trail, like the climb pro is a little behind the actual climb that's happening. I wish it was more accurate.
No I havent tried the beta. These clowns (devs) can't even get a stable release out on a $600 product I can only imagine what a crapshoot the betas are.
I have used every 1040 beta for the last two years and lived, can’t say they are any worse than the production releases although many issues are reported by beta testers but apparently ignored by Garmin and subsequently become bugs in production versions. As for the gradient the current consensus is that the new (beta) gradient IS more responsive BUT IS even less accurate than the previous less responsive version, so not a great result.
