device stops recording

I have a new Edge 540 with no sensors attached. I'm able to download a course and begin navigating the course, recording the ride as I go, but part way through the ride the recording will just stop, as if I've told the device to stop the ride. But I have not stopped the ride. Yesterday it stopped recording 22 miles into a 71 mile ride. This was a PIT stop where we did stop riding for a while. Did the ride time out? If so, how can I prevent this or work around it?

    I second this question, this just started happening to me about a month or so ago and does it on every long ride with a bit of a stop in the middle of the ride. I've gone ahead and disabled auto stop/start as someone in another forum said to try. Really wonder why it started doing this and starting to regret buying a Garmin as it's kind of useless if it stops recording mid ride.

    FYI I rode all season, several dozen long rides, and this problem never happened to me again. I have no idea why. I didn't do anything to fix it. It just stopped happening. I'll hope you have the same luck.

    Thanks, I've been riding fine with it until about a month ago, just starting stopping mid ride. Hope it figures itself out, will try to disable some features and see if it helps.
