This happened to me yesterday, but with slightly different circumstances, and I have the 1040 Solar.
I was on a group ride which finished up a ways from my house, so while riding in the general direction of home, I pulled up the navigation and picked my house from the saved locations. It calculated a route and for a split second it had the route up on the screen telling me when my next turn was. Then poof! it rebooted. When it came back up I couldn't resume my ride, but I could save it and start a new one. I pulled up the navigation again and it worked just fine on the 2nd go-around. I didn't lose any data, with the exception of the time period when it was rebooting.
