Why is an activity with only 1% power zone 3 or higher, classified as 'Threshold'?

I've been using Garmin for a longer time and all has been functioning well.

I'm following the training suggestions most of the time and use a power meter combined with HR meter to have the data to train correctly.

The classification of activities to the training effect is mostly clear to me. However, I am now struggling to understand why an activity like below is classified as 'Threshold'.

Power has almost not been above zone 2, and my heartrate is low, with no spikes.

I would expect this to be a Base training.

Thanks in advance for helping to understand.

  • because it is an useless feature... i always get 1-2 zones higher training effect benefit, last time i had 115avg hr (63%MaxHR) with 128maxhr , which is low endurance zone maximum, the power was 231NP , the IF also <0.65 so <65%FTP and it gave me Tempo benefit (and i almost slept on the bike). i posted about it few times, no response from Garmin (FirstBeat)'s side, pointless to watch it imho
