Device hangs after USB cable removed

After I plugged my 540 into my laptop for charging or a sync, I dismount the device and then disconnect the USB cable. The device then powers up, only it gets stuck with the message "loading courses, workouts and locations". Normally this "loading" message appears for a few seconds before the device is ready, here it can last for 20 minutes so I give it a hard reset.

I can resolve this with a hard reset each time but it seems to be a recurrent problem, a software bug. Is there an explanation or a fix please?

Mine does the exact same thing and I have not been able to find any information about how to fix it. If you do find out why this is occuring, can you please post back? Thank you!

Try plugging in the 540 from a completely powered off state rather than sleep mode. Then after ejecting/unmounting device see if it powers up without hanging. It seems to help when I've hit this issue.

Thanks but it doesn't work for me. If I switch the device off (not sleep), then plug into into a USB charger and later unplug then device it starts up but gets stuck, the "loading courses, workouts and locations" message and it requires a hard reset. Frustrating as it does this every time I charge it.
