Can't create new activity profile

As you can see from the number of threads I'm opening, I'm having lots of problems with my new Garmin 540. Right now, I can't create a new activity profile; I want to create a set of pages that are relevant to when I race, but I can't find the option to "create new" that I think should be there and is described at https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-17DE938E-466A-4746-BDBF-7A6FC1B3A32C/EN-US/GUID-8D902DE5-07A9-49A1-83CB-105479870BE1.html

I just get the three profiles that are there already, and no further options.

Can anyone help?

Ah, worked it out in the end. Turns out I can't do this via the Garmin app, and can only do it on the Garmin itself. That seems nuts!
