Cloning the software

If it can fail - it will! Maybe not to you but.... Mine has and Garmin wanted a lot of money to fix it. However I know it's a corrupted base software issue. So I wondered before I try it, which I will, has anyone else tried to clone the s/w from a known good unit to another of the same type?
And "No", in case you ask, G Express is not interested

The last official production version for the 530 was 9.75, there has been no further production version in the 2-3 years since BUT about 2 years ago a beta version (9.79) was posted but was never released to production, many beta testers used it successfully. This version was the last released as a downloadable file and the 9.79 beta update zip file contains both the 9.79 update file and the previous 9.75 production version (for backdating if users not happy with the beta)

So you could choose between the production 9.75 and / or the 9.79 beta

Make sure you get the 530 version.
