Edge 530 and Favero Assiomoa Duo paired wrong?

I recently paired a new set of Duo pedals to my Edge 530 and on Garmin Connect it is showing my power but with a "0% L / 100% R" L/R Balance.

What might have I done wrong? And how can I correct it?

One guess I have is that maybe I paired with the right pedal instead of the left?? (knowing that the left is supposed to communicate both sets of data) but I don't remember choosing a side, it just discovered the ANT + signal and I paired it.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • via ANT+ it pairs only with the master pedal , which is the left one, and this pedal communicates with the right one, make a sum and sends the data to the head unit.

1st: check in the Edge sensor list what kind of protocol is used with Assiomas . The Assioma  should have a 5 (or 6) digits name, if it different, has characters too, that is the Bluetooth version which is not good.

2nd: check in the Assioma app that both pedals are activated and working, with same firmwares and paired good as a Duo (and not disconnected)

  • Completed both 1 and 2 above and they look correct as described. I did find the pedals were on a 4.xx version of their firmware and needed to be updated to a 6.xx firmware. I will see if that takes care of it. If it doesn’t I will need some other sighting how to get the L/R Balance measurement corrected

  • so now the L/R balance is working - it must have been the Firmware update on the pedals that needed doing - I now have what looks to me like accurate balance reading (mostly hovering closely around 50:50
