Why has the Edge 530 Beta software (9.81) not made it to live in over 2 years?!

eMountain bike rides are uploaded as eBike rides on the Live Firmware - On the Beta (9.81) it works correctly.

The main software 9.75, hasnt been updated in over 2 years...

Can they not just push that live now?

The 530 was supplanted over 2 years ago.

I've been running 9.81 since it came out. For me, it's been the best firmware version yet.

If you haven't yet, enroll in the beta program and install it.

I have enrolled and I do use it.

I have seen Garmin staff in the forums previously - I know the 530 is old, but if there is a new firmware available for it... why not push to live?!

If you like it, then just use it as Beta, don't force the rest of us to take it. I'm on 9.75 and everything is fine so I don't want to risk 9.81 or any other new release. I'm sure others are in the same boat as myself, we don't want to disturb what's working.

, it was never released as well. I assume the developers thought they had found something and believed it would fix issues experienced by "some" users but the consensuses from over 100 beta testers reports was that it didn't seem to do anything.

There was also a 9.80 production release but only for Asia Region 530/830 devices who had missed out on the x.75 release.

Maybe they are still working on the ultimate x.30 release that will make the x.30s better than a x.40 or x.50, what do you reckon? ;-)

Very strange - weirdly I only came across it when someone was mentioning that "eMTB" rides on Edge 530 save as e-bike rides, rather than eMTB. Hardly a huge issue to say the least.

Either way, fixed in x.81 - just find it odd it has been left behind!

I have spontaneously disconnections of a Varia radar from my wife's Edge 530. I have no issues on my Edge 840 bike computer. I think the problem is on the Edge 530 side. Should I try installing beta firmware?
