Edge 840 not recording speed and distance

My edge 840 has stopped recording speed and distance. I recently connected a speed sensor and it works fine when connected. However, when the sensor is disconnected or even when using a different bike, with no sensor at all, the device is not recording either metric. Amy suggestions please? Thanks

Go into "Status" and ensure GPS has not been disabled. You can confirm if it has or not by looking at the map page and seeing if you are in the correct location on the map.
