Persistent Measurement Error – Need an Effective Update Barometer - Elevation

A few months ago, I encountered a measurement error. At that time, I performed a downgrade, which temporarily resolved the issue. However, the error has now reappeared. We need a permanent and effective update to prevent this from happening again. Could you please provide guidance or an expected timeline for a fix?

  • I doubt you're problem is with the firmware.  If so, the problem would have existed throughout the life of the firmware.  To provide another data point, my 530 continues to provide very accurate elevation data, and has done so for years on Version 9.75.  We also aren't seeing widespread reports of elevation errors in the x30 series.  Even if there were, the x30 series has been out of production for several years now, updates are very unlikely.  Personally I do not want an update as mine works very well and an update is a chance for them to make it worse.

It does suck to have a unit that isn't working properly.  Has it been exposed to excessive moisture, perhaps fouling the sensor?  Some have reported gentle drying with a hair dryer and leaving indoors in a dry environment to help.
