unable to sync courses to edge 530

All of a sudden I'm unable to sync courses to my edge 530, I recently had to reset my phone, however it isn't that that's caused the problem as I've tried syncing them via garmin express on the PC.

I wondered if it was the 100 course limit striking again so deleted everything using the delete all on the edge, as can be seen from the attached photo and screenshot, I now have 3 courses on the edge whereas there are actually 98 courses in connect, these 3 courses were sent individually to the device from connect or Komoot
