This bike speed sensor is installed with software v. 2.3, according to Connect. The 530 says it recognizes the sensor. However, a top banner pops up about at times (30s to 2min intervals) while riding, with the message "SPD-0482965 found". Why is the device telling me this? Speed is indeed displayed realistically, but it could be calculated from the GPS position alone and I wouldn't know the difference.
I wonder if this is connected with another issue: From time to time I get a message on the display that there is an update available that will take about 5 minutes to install. I proceed with it (in wifi range), a little progress timer starts spinning and counts up to a certain point - it got as far as 17 today - and then it hangs and terminates with a Connection lost message. I have never seen this process complete in a tidy manner, but the device tells me the software version is 9.75, which seems to be the latest. Mystery.
These are not serious issues - everything seems to work OK - but I wonder if my device and sensor software are really up-to-date.
