I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem or maybe it is just me. I have noticed some strange behavior of my Garmin 530 in the last few months. The frequency has increased hence before while I was ignoring it, it is occurring often enough now that I'm now wondering if this is a bug that others are experiencing or needs to be fixed?
My Edge 530 will occasionally freeze within the first 5 minutes of a ride. It will freeze for maybe about 30 seconds with the screen and all display and buttons non-responsive, then unfreeze and resume itself. The clock will rapidly accelerate until it has "caught" back up to the supposed time. I have not noticed this behavior beyond the first 5 minutes of a ride, but it sure is very weird and annoying. However, if I'm navigating using a course, occasionally the device will completely lock up and not respond except to a 10 second power button hold.
Occasionally, my 530 will intermittently crash completely upon start up of the device. It'll be black and non-responsive. The only way around this is to perform the reset by holding the power button down for 10 seconds, which seems to solve this problem.
I usually power my device down completely instead of letting it idle off.
