Super slow startup after latest EU map update

I installed the latest automatic map update (EU basemaps and trailforks 2024.10) through Garmin Express and my trusty Edge 530 now takes about 45-60 seconds on the loading screen, loading the maps every time I turn the device off and on fully.

I've even tried taking off all of the maps on the device and reinstalling them but it has made no difference.

Is anyone else seeing the same problem or can anyone suggest a solution?

    Had tried reinstalling the maps via Garmin Express but that didn't work. So I deleted the maps on the Edge 530, and deleted them on the computer running Garmin Express.

    Then I tried reinstalling the maps again using Garmin Express (so it would have to download them again) and that appears to have fixed the issue. Now the startup is back to about 5-10 seconds as it should be and the maps are looking fine.

    Hi,
    I have the same problem, my startup is very slow, what are the files to delete on the device?
    I don't want to delete my saved locations.

    The maps are in the \Garmin folder on the unit and have .img extensions.  Saved locations are in a sub folder and are stored in a .fit file so deleting the map files won't affect them.
