Frustrating 530

I have had my Garmin 530 for about 2 months and am not impressed - when creating a ride "Create Course Function" and then using the navigation it will almost always fail to complete the loop, comes back with do a U Turn, Off Course and then when trying to start over have the same issue... rode on Sunday over 100 kim first 50 great, and then failed defaulted back to saved locations HOME to return which took me back exaclty the way I had just come..... what are my options???

    Beer, wine, or something stronger. :-)

    I gave up creating courses on my 530, or navigate to any saved waypoints. I use only the course navigation for all those courses which were created NOT on 530, just uploaded via GC. And I never let any recalculation. 

    My other observation is that even if the navigation with the native map is not perfect, it is better not to try to use another map (not even some cycling map similarly based on OSM data), because it creates more frequent miscalculations.

    I mean I use another map, but if I were to create a course on 530 I’d do it using the factory map.

    Thanks for your feedback makes a lot of sense and will follow your suggestions — the Garmin product simply doesn‘t do what its suppose to navigate …. Its like using CarPlay getting half way to your destination and then being told to DO A U TURN …. ha ha …
