I bought an edge 530 secondhand from a friend. I’ve noticed the device says 292 kilometres during my ride and doesn’t start from kilometre 0 at the start. My friend never had this problem. My device does this on my mtb and road and gravel rides. Anyone know the solution to make the device show 0 instead of 200? Thanks.
It would seem that you’re continuing an earlier activity rather than saving it and starting a new one. Make sure that to press the Start/Stop button at the end of an activity to initiate saving it, and the next activity should start from zero.
So it could be just building upon the previous history of rides? That would be unusual as I have been hitting the start and stop button after every ride.
If you've been stopping and saving, then you might be using the Odometer data field as 9539154 suggests. Change it to the Distance data field by editing data screens in your activity profile.
There is one more step to complete your ride activity after hitting stop, you have to save the activity. This tells the Garmin you've finished that activity and it wraps up the file and auto uploads if you set that up. Then the next activity you start will be a new file starting from zero distance/time.
