So, the beta-updates for various models to fix the sensor dropouts are out since 6 (six) months? Will these ever get an official release or has Garmin abandoned the whole topic?

I hope not because the sensor drop-outs are just as bad with the latest beta as they were with the GA release. For stuff that isn't an ant sensor (BLE HRM and ANT Radar) I think it's worse with the latest beta than the GA.
I suspect Garmin has given up, but maybe they are still tweaking things and will release an actual fix as a Christmas present.
I feel bad for those with issues, but at this point I hope they don't release any additional firmware. My 530 is nearly perfect, only the rarest of momentary sensor drops that immediately reconnect, and often in an explainable situation where there is other interference. I'm thinking they are more likely to make my experience worse than better if they change anything.
It's pretty distressing that they can't even get the problems sorted from the x40 units. I'd be tempted to upgrade to an 840, but I'm not risking replacing a near perfect working 530 for a new unit with bugs.
I have waited for years for Garmin to sort out all the bugs in my 800, it was discontinued and never happened. And that has how it is with Garmin over the years with its "edges" so the answer basically is, no, all the issues with a 530, 830 and 1030 will never be resolved.
Cyclists are taken as mugs, I doubt the aviation or maritime industry would not put up with faulty products.
Interesting though there has been a 530/830 Asia 9.80 release in recent days, no idea what that means for the standard versions?
It appears this Hong Kong installer (for Garmin Express) contains 9.80 firmware for the 530
