Do you use a speed sensor? If so, then it needs to be calibrated to report the right distance. If not, then it may be due to the GPS accuracy limits. Make sure to get the GPS lock before starting the activity.

Yes, I noticed some differences to Strava too, though very small at cycling. I recommend reporting it to the Support. However, I would not hope for a quick fix from their side. A speed sensor will fix it faster, and it does not cost much.

Speed sensor calculates the distance too. It is just called a "speed sensor", but what it does is the counting of the revolutions of the wheel. Then there is also so-called "cadence sensor", but that one would not help you unless you use a fixie bike without gears, since it counts the revolutions of the pedals.

As trux says, although it is named a speed sensor, it is really a "distance sensor".  Speed is a calculated result, not directly measured.  kM/hour is just that, how many kilometers you move per hour.  So the "speed sensor" is counting revolutions of the wheel and using the known circumference of the wheel to calculate the distance, which is divided by the time to calculate speed.  Buy the speed sensor, it's the only way to get consistently accurate distance from any GPS device.
