Strava route not working

Hello everyone, based in Germany, just got a new Garmin 530 and every time I want to get my Strava route running (activity profile > find course > choose the one I have uploaded via Strava+Garmin connect > Ride > Navigate to the beginning of the couse? > YES > THIS ROUTE MAY TAKE A LONG TIME TO CALCULATE. CONSIDER ADDING VIA POINTS. And that is my dead end for the past several hours or searching online what am I doing wrong and why the *** I can not get this route running. I have already ''un-starred'' and ''disconnected'' everything from everything and no change. Could someone help? Did this happen to anyone else? Thank you in advance

  • Hi, sometimes using "Navigate to beginning" doesn't work very well, especially if you're far from the start of the course. It may be better to answer "no" and just ride to the start of the course without navigation. The navigation will automatically start when you reach the start of the course (it'll show "Course found").

  • "Doesn't work very well"? That's putting it mildly. https://blog.goingtothedogs.co.uk/2023/09/day-12-supposed-to-be-darmstadt-to.html My start point was near Russelsheim. Garmin took me in completely the wrong direction!
That's a feature I'll never be using again.

  • Yeah, while following a saved course works reasonably well, calculating a new course from scratch does not seem to be one of the x30 series' strong points..., especially in very built-up areas with large number of routes (roads, paths, etc). Both "Navigate to start" and "automatic route re-calculation" (when off-course) struggle and personally I don't use them.

Reviews indicate that the x40 series route calculation time is wayyyy faster, and I'm curious whether it handles these 2 cases much more reliably.
