Edge 530 version 9.79b - Are we done?

Two months now…

The thread appears to be dead. I cannot comment in the thread, and the "answer" in the thread is a complaint. (Why are users allowed to mark their own replies as answers?)
Users still have dropping sensor connections, still have spontaneous restarts during activities, with no reply from a Garmin rep for over a month.
I see the SAME problems with the Edge 540 that Gamin is pretending to address in the 530.

  • I have the same issue as .  I cannot comment on the Beta forum but my Edge 530 running 9.79 has become increasingly unwilling to connect to accessories.

    It basically has stopped working upon start.  Sometimes it will find everything but sometimes it won't find anything.  It is very typical for it to beep and announce that the cadence sensor has disconnected but it never seems to beep when the HRM or the lights disconnect / reconnect.

    The accessories I have:

    • HRM Pro Plus
    • Fenix 6X Broadcast HR
    • Garmin Speed / Cadence V2 no magnet
    • Ronde ANT+ / BLE no magnet
    • Bontrager ION Pro RT / Flare RT
    • Garmin Varia RT510 / UT800
    • others...

    It is quite maddening, when I charge the Edge 530 on the computer it will eventually reset itself and then it seems to find my lights 30' away in the garage where it triggers them to run their batteries down.

    When I start riding my gravel bike, it will sometimes trigger the lights on my MTB and then when I get back home the MTB lights are still on (I'm not a complete idiot and eventually I just disconnected the MTB lights and only allow it to control the lights on my gravel bike.)

    Most of the time it connects to nothing upon start but if I turn it off and on a bunch of times it will eventually connect.

    Last ride it never found the HRM.  Today it finds it immediately.

    Factory reset does not help, I have done it numerous times.  Disconnecting all the ANT+ devices and then adding them back one by one doesn't help, symptoms return with only 1 device paired.
