My Garmin Edge 530 automatically shares and saves during bike rides before the ride has ended.

My Garmin Edge 530 automatically shares and saves during bike rides before the ride has ended. So I get, for example, on my Garmin, but also on Strava, all small pieces of the total ride. Probably something is wrong in the settings but I can't figure it out. Can you help me what might be going on? Thank you in advance.

That doesn't sound like normal behavior or part of a setting that I'm aware of. Can you confirm that you are not stopping and saving during the activity?

Do you have a "Speed Sensor 2" that you paired with your phone? The SS2 is designed to automatically record rides and if you've set for automatic download then every time you pause riding it will think that the ride is over and download. This feature is only designed to be used without a Edge or some other head unit. And it's a bit unreliable to use that way even if you didn't have an Edge.

You should only have the SS2 paired to the Edge, preferably via ANT+. If you've paired it to your phone, delete that connection.

If you don't have a SS2, then ignore all this!
