Today's ride recoded as yesterday

After my ride yesterday, I accidentally hit the Start button.  I immediately hit stop then it came up with the "Save Ride" prompt.  Since this was not a true ride (only 6 seconds with 0 speed/distance), I did not save the ride and powered off the Edge.  Today I started a new ride and after I finished I saved the ride.  However on the Garmin Connect app, Strava, and Apple workouts it shows the ride as having happened yesterday.  In the Garmin Connect app I was able to correct the date/time, but Strava and Apple Workouts still show the ride as happening yesterday even though the ride was today.  Any recommendations?

  • If this happens in the future, one of the options at the "Save Ride" screen is to scroll down to the "Discard Ride" option.  You'll want to do that and delete the junk activity.  In your instance, the Edge saved that ride start and thought you were still doing that activity but paused recording when you shut it down without discarding it.  So when you started the next day, it just restarted recording again from where you left off the day before thinking it was a singled activity with a pause in recording.

Strava allows you to crop a ride, maybe if you cropped the beginning off it would then pick up the timestamps for the following day and call that the ride start?  I don't know if GC or Apple has a similar feature.

  • Thanks! I'll be sure and use "Discard Ride" next time this happens.  Unfortunately I couldn't crop the ride on Strava since that only works for GPS rides and this one was on my stationary bike.  And no luck with Apple.  Lesson learned:  use "Discard Ride"

  • Thanks, I’ll give it a try
