"Time moving" vs Total time - Seems like it's not recording all of my moving

Hi everyone,

is there a way to adjust the sensibility of the GPS in this matter? 2 days ago, on a 2 hours + ride, I had only 35 minutes of Moving time when it takes about 30 minutes to get to one top, did more than one climb.

Is it like the auto-start, this feature could have a minimum speed threshold for recording "Moving time" ?

Thanks in advance!

  • Edge has an auto pause feature with a custom speed setting for when to pause the timer if speed is less than the setting.  Maybe your speed value is too high so your Edge does not consider you to be going fast enough to time during the long climb?

I keep auto pause off on my device.  Garmin Connect and Strava will tell you the moving time and total time during each activity, I think asking the Edge device to make decisions about when to start and stop timing is unnecessary and provides false data about how long your ride is.

  • I'm in total agreement with .  I see countless problems reported in the forums that are caused by auto-pause.  As stated, overall and moving time are still recorded in Garmin Connect and Strava with auto-pause disabled.  Breaks are part of the ride, I just don't get the desire to even have auto-pause, especially since it causes so many problems and you can still get a report of moving vs. overall time and speed in the software post ride.

  • My auto-pause and auto-start featuers are both off. I just noticed I had auto-sleep on, will try with that off to see if it changes anything! Thank you both.
