Record whole ride, including the navigate to start and the route from the finish to home

Hi,

I have tired today to do a test, but it failed.

Here's what i would like to happen, is this achievable?

I have a 100k route loaded into my Edge 530, it's 10k from my house.

I want to cycle to the start and cycle home from the finish.

I want to record the whole route, including the 'to start' and 'back home' sections before and after the main route.

So i'd like to end up with a 120k ride.

Is this possible? I tried to do a small test today and it didn;t work.

I hit 'yes' when asked to navigate to start, did the small course then stopped the garmin when i got home. It did not record the bit from my house to the start point.

    Yes what you want is possible. Remember recording your ride and navigating are separate things.

    When you want to start the ride press the start/pause button.  When you want to finish it press the start/pause button and save it when prompted.

    Separate from that start and stop navigating whenever you want to.  Stopping navigation won't stop ride recording.  Starting navigation won't start ride recording.
